Dr. Savla is an absolute angel. We brought our four kids in for the first time today after switching from a dentist who we liked but stopped taking insurance. From my pre-teen to my infant, Dr. Savla treated each one of them with kindness and was so incredibly gentle and patient with them. She even sang to my infant while examining him. The hygienists were wonderful, too. I wish we had been with this practice from the very beginning.
When I initially called to set up an appointment at the start of March, they said they were booked and not taking new patients, you can try calling next month. I called at the start of April like they advised, again they said they were not taking new patients and to call at the start of the following month. I said that " I had called the month before and they told me to call back and so I did and if they can't book my child out, even if it was in a few months, I'd call somewhere else" They said, oh well, we could get you in at the end of June. That's great. Gave them our information, our insurance info, they confirmed they took our insurance, great, all set. fast forward to the appt. We were the first appt of the day, in fact, the person who worked the front desk walked in with us. when they asked for our name, I had to repeat it no less than 5 times and repeat what we were there for. the scanned my ID and insurance card, the hygienist called us back, she was super nice, brushed our child's teeth, the dentist came in, took a peek, they applied fluoride to his back teeth and off we went. no kidding. we were in and out in less than 15 minutes starting at the time we walked in the door. now, today, 2 weeks after the appt, I get the summary from insurance saying what was billed to them, I see that we are going to owe $100, surely that can't be, it's a cleaning, cleanings are covered, I knew I would have to pay something for the fluoride, but not $100. turns out, we weren't in network like they said and now I have $100 bill coming my way. long story short. ya better triple check and get it in writing that they take your insurance and that you are in network. otherwise, you are stuck with a bill for $100 for literally brushing your child's teeth.
